Quick Tips: The SQ3R method

Learn how to read through course content effectively to maximise your comprehension and understanding.  This is the SQ3R method:

Survey

Scan through the information and pull out keywords, subject headings and things like when the information was published.
Question Use the CRAAP method to evaluate the source before and during the reading.  Ask yourself "What have I learned from this chapter or section?" "What do I already know about the topic?"
Read Skim read through the whole section.  Take note of topic sentences for paragraphs and any concluding methods.
Recall Write a sentence or two about what you've learned from this reading in your own words.
Review Re-read the section. Go a bit slower on important sections.

This method is particularly useful if you're a learner who might have visual or auditory processing difficulties (Patrick, 2020).
