Research Skills: Understand the assessment

Research Skills subject guide

Quick tips

Before you begin your research:

  • Gather all of the information you already have: notes, assignment question, and so on
  • Understand the details of the assignment; the due date, how you will be marked, the word count, the format
  • If there are any words in the assignment that you do not understand, this is the time to talk to your teacher about them
  • Write a summary of everything you know about the topic, and everything you want to find out
